Water supplied by water authorities generally contains chlorine 
in various amounts, which are often dependent upon the water 
table level and local conditions. There will always be a chlorine 
concentration as well as other organic and inorganic matter 
present in the water.

oxidise or “burn up” these contaminants and leave the water free
